I've actually seen a blue footed booby out in the wild. I took a catamaran out to an island off of Puerto Vallarta years ago and we stopped to snorkle near a bird sanctuary primarily populated by the blue footed booby. Los Arcos. A marine park with pelicans and bobos. You can snorkle near it, but you can't touch any part of the island, apparently the coral is delicate as the ecosystem there.
